Danish indie band Choir Of Young Believers made their debut in 2007, with the EP “Burn The Flag”, which earned them heavy airplay and great reviews in their homeland. Other highlights of 2007 included a memorable performance at Roskilde Festival, a National Radio Award and a Critics Choice Award for “Best New Act”.
In 2008 the band released their debut album “This Is For The White In Your Eyes”. The reviews of “This Is For The White In Your Eyes” were amazing and critics all agreed, that it was “Best Danish Album” of the year. After another performance at one of Europe´s largest festivals, Roskilde Festival, they ended in the top of the charts in 2008. In 2009 Choir Of Young Believers were nominated in a record 7 categories at the Danish Music Awards (Grammies) and took home the award for “Best New Act”.
In 2009 they signed with US record label Ghostly Int., who released the album worldwide during 2009, to further critical acclaim and much airplay, especially in US and UK. They also signed a world wide publishing deal with Sony/ATV Music Publishing.
The band toured intensively for two years, including 3 tours in the US, performing at SXSW in both 2009 and 2010, numerous US and Uk radio performances for BBC and KCRW and a support tour for fellow Danish act MEW in UK.
The music of Choir Of Young Believers has been used in a number of US TV shows, such as Beverly Hills 90210, Melrose Place and Numb3ers and a couple of European feature films and two of their songs have been sampled by US hiphop artist Kid Cudi.
On March 20th 2012, after finishing up a highly successful US tour, they released their second album “Rhine Gold” world wide, to wide spread critical acclaim. The album release was followed by tours in Europe and US throughout the year, meanwhile the song “Hollow Talk” from their debut album was featured as title track on the very popular TV show “The Bridge”, which won the band a lot of new fans around the world. COYB ended 2012 topping the “best of 2012” charts in their homeland and also receiving five nominations for the Critics Choice Awards, winning “Best Group” and a nomination for the Nordic Music Prize.
In early 2014, they returned after a long break, supporting Depeche Mode for 8 european shows, and they are currently putting final touches on their 3rd studio album, to be released in the spring of 2016. The new album is said to be inspired by Talk Talk, Enya and Frank Ocean.
