SLOMOSA + GREENLEAF

HABIT OF THE TUNDRA TOUR 2024

+ Support: PSYCHLONA

Like clockwork, Swedish stoner rockers GREENLEAF spread their concentrated sludgy energy to disciples of the genre by releasing Echoes From A Mass in 2021, the successor to their 2018 epic, Hear The Rivers. The album opener, “Tides”, immediately draws the listener into a swirl of guitar driven soundscapes, while Arvid Hällagård’s remarkable voice merges with hypnotizing background vocals, ceremonially inviting the listener into a heavy reverie. Floating hypnotic grooves set the stage for the compelling yet chilling “Needle In My Eye” — with its incisive, driving drums and roaring riffs, the record’s third song accumulates piece by piece into a modern rock standout, taking the mind by storm. “Love Undone” breaks in with Tommi Holappa’s acclaimed, blistering guitar riffs that will keep the listener moving to the mesmerizing, distinctive sonic layers of GREENLEAF. The bluesy mid-tempo track “Bury Me My Son” digs deep with its poignant lyrics and an extensive, grooving bass solo, reminiscent of their roots in the Dozer days. With “March On Higher Grounds”, the Swedes deliver a dusting of desert-vibes, merging into a truly catchy refrain, while closer “What Have We Become” offers a hallucinatory realm of calmness, setting a bold exclamation mark at the album’s epic end. Once again, GREENLEAF prove that they dare to think outside the box and deliver a heavy roller comprised of Sebastian Olsson’s rumbling drumming performance, fuzzy guitars, Fröhlich’s haunting bass lines, Arvid Hällagård’s powerful yet ghoulish vocals and undeniable, heavy stoner, southern desert and blues vibes. Echoes From A Mass was recorded at Studio Gröndahl in October 2020 by former band member Karl Daniel Lidén, who also mixed and mastered the record at Tri-Lamb Studios. Lidén is recognized for his work with well-known acts such as Katatonia, Bloodbath, Lowrider and Crippled Black Phoenix, to name a few.

Psychlona was born in Bradford, England during the summer of 2016, emerging from the ashes of various bands from the area. The sound quickly found its natural path taking influences from all things punk rock, the California desert rock scene, 60s/70s hard rock and psychedelia, and pretty much everything else in between. Fast forward to August 2020, and with an acclaimed debut album [Mojo Rising - 2018] already under their belts, the
sophomore album Venus Skytrip (Ripple Music/Cursed Tongue Records) was unleashed to rave reviews across the board, landing straight in at number one on the Doom Charts and ranking highly on numerous end-of-year lists from notable publications, including number two on the Doom Charts 2020 list, behind only Lowrider. Vinyl copies of the album sold out during the pre-order phase and is currently on its third pressing through Blues Funeral Recordings. Psychlona signed with Psycho Waxx - the in-house label from Psycho Las Vegas - in 2021, and third album Palo Verde became the first non-compilation release on the emergent label in August 2022. The new album has received critical acclaim, including the band's second 10/10 review in Powerplay Magazine. Psychlona has already been lucky enough to appear at festivals such as Psycho Las Vegas (US), Desertfest London, Freak Valley Festival (DE), SonicBlast Fest (PT), Esbjerg Fuzztival (Denmark), HRH Doom v Stoner (UK) & Hammerfest (UK). The band recently toured the US West in support of Church Of The Cosmic Skull and also played main support to High On Fire in San Diego the previous year. Other tour dates have included Belgium, Germany, Denmark, Netherlands and the UK. The band is already confirmed to play the next Alcatraz Festival (BE) [to be announced] and plans are in motion for further US & European tour dates in 2023.

Hailing from the west of Norway, the four-piece Slomosa have been making waves across borders. Based out of Bergen, Norway the band has coined their own genre - Tundra Rock - drawing their influences from the bands of the 90’s rock scenes. Inspired by bands such as Kyuss, Queens of the Stone Age and Sleep, their music is both heavy and groovy at the same time, with raw vocals and thunderous guitars, topped with catchy hooks. Since their start the band has built up a solid reputation as a live band, with their energetic and loud live shows. In October 2019 their first single "Horses" was released on all platforms, to much acclaim. Their two following singles - There is Nothing New Under the Sun and In My Mind's Desert - further contributed to the band's growing hype, with Spotify listing their music on their official Stoner Rock playlist. Both singles further showcased Slomosa's unique ability to merge heavy riffs with "poppy" songwriting, catching the attention of music fans all over the world. In August 2020 the band released their much anticipated self-titled debut album, to great applaud and top reviews. Regional newspaper Bergens Tidende's reviewer gave the record a full score and called the album "a beast of a debut album". Metal Hammer UK gave the album an 8 out of 10 score, writing "Slomosa is a spellbinding listen crammed with catchy hooks and guitar heroics that recall Josh Homme during the glory days of Kyuss".  Spotify listed the album's second song "Kevin" on eight of their biggest rock playlists, making the band's music reach out to over 2.5 million listeners all over the world and the band's stature to further grow. Amassing a staggering 90 000 monthly listeners and over a million plays in the wake of their debut album's release, the band's quick rise has raised eyebrows at home and abroad.
