Band descriptions:

➤ THE MIDNIGHT GHOST TRAIN I Topeka, KS, USA

COLD WAS THE GROUND. On August 1st, 2007, John Goff was pronounced dead. After this influential event, one year later Steve Moss formed The Midnight Ghost Train in Buffalo - as an eulogy to his best friend. “Something had to be done,” Steve says. “John’s memory and life has to be remembered in some way.” With Brandon Burghart (drums) and Mike Boyne (bass) an album was cut - and they started touring. Since then this is the idea and drive that fuels the engine of The Midnight Ghost Train. Most commonly described as Hard Rock - and related to bands like Kyuss, Black Sabbath and Clutch - the trio combines Gospel hymns of the sermon, down tuned Rock'n'Roll riffs of Southern and Stoner Rock - and dark Delta Blues. After the break-through with their second full-length ‘Buffalo’ - making several top 20 lists and being rated “Best Stoner Rock Album Of 2012” by Heavy Planet - one year later, TMGT played Roadburn Festival and in 2014 signed with Napalm Records, whom released their third full-length ‘Cold Was The Ground’. In August 2017 their latest, most mature album ‘Cypress Ave’ saw the light - straying away from the straight forward Hard Rock root, focusing more on song writing and reflecting their eclectic influences. Condensed, TGMG's records have been noted as some of the best music to come out in the past years.

While having played at festivals such as Hellfest Open Air Festival, Graspop Metal Meeting, MOTOCULTOR FESTIVAL Open Air, DesertFest Berlin, and Stoned from the Underground - Festival, their intense, raw, energetic, passionate and soulful live shows have become the pinnacle and well sought out experience of their existence - and have been reviewed as being some of the best live shows of all times. No matter where they are or how many people they play to, you will never find TMGT giving anything less than their absolute best as a band.

In 2010, Moss’ father and mentor died of a heart attack. His last words to Steve were “Don’t ever stop playing music, no matter what. Push it as hard as you can.” These are the words that the band lives by. The Midnight Ghost Train will never stop. They’ve given it all up for the stage. See it. Feel it. And catch the train.

PREY TO THE LORD. Cause beasts in disguise will catch you to revel in playful melodies and drivin' rhythms. Get ready for a cocktail of grief and pent-up anger, embedded in groovy Stoner Rock, Heavy Psych und thick Blues - up until the grimy Grunge inevitably cracks the surface, when frontman Nikki approaches the mic. His vocals are rough and alien, like after decades of silence – but at the same time gripping in his subliminal ire. On their in 2016 released debut 'Cold Blooded Blues' the hooks implant themselves in your lobes after the first play-through, as stubborn as termites in a rotten tree, hollow you out, may yet wrest a tear or two from your eye – would not the bone-dry sound swallow them up in the same instant. When finally a guitar solo cleanses you like a venomous fang, and the white-hot pain creeps through your blood vessels straight into your heart, you can be pretty sure about it: The Lizardmen gottcha. Time to crawl up!

FFO: Kamra to Burn, Spelljammer, Rotor, Major Kong, Have Blue, Zen Bison
